On April 8, our company's Bearing Technology R&D Center officially announced a major breakthrough in surface treatment technology for stainless steel bearing materials. After six months of process development, the new stainless steel passivation process has been successfully applied to the rings and rolling elements of 304 and 316 stainless steel bearings, passing 24, 48, 72, and 96-hour high-intensity salt spray tests, achieving the durability goal of "true rust resistance."

Our Technical Director stated at the launch: "Conventional stainless steel bearings typically only withstand 24-48 hours in salt spray environments, and some low-cost products fail to even reach 24 hours. By optimizing the passivation solution formula and precisely controlling passivation time and temperature, we have elevated the density of the passivation film to a new level. After 96 hours of salt spray testing, the bearing ring and rolling element surfaces show no red rust spots, truly achieving 'stainless steel bearings that do not rust.'"

[Table 1: Salt Spray Test Results]

Test Duration Conventional Passivation (Market Common) Our New Passivation
24 hours Partial rust spots No rust
48 hours Obvious rust stains No rust
72 hours Extensive corrosion No rust
96 hours Complete corrosion No rust

Currently, stainless steel bearings using the new passivation process have entered small-scale trial production, with mass production expected in June 2026. The product will be prioritized for applications requiring high corrosion resistance, such as food processing machinery, chemical pumps, outdoor motors, and marine engineering equipment.
