On March 28, Shell Lubricants launched its new generation high-speed bearing grease product line – the Shell Gadus S5 V100 series – in Hamburg, Germany, specifically targeting drive motors and high-speed electric drive systems in new energy vehicles. The new product uses polyurea-based composite technology, maintaining excellent lubrication performance at ultra-high speeds.
Markus Becker, Shell's Global Technical Director of Industrial Lubricants, stated at the launch: "As electric drive system speeds move beyond 25,000 rpm, traditional greases face extreme challenges under centrifugal force and high temperatures. The S5 V100 series features an entirely new thickener and base oil formulation, maintaining a stable oil film under extreme conditions and extending bearing life."
